Sound — 9
Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme's side project, the puzzlingly named Eagles Of Death Metal, have an appealing rockabilly, rock and roll sound to them, which is very refreshing in today's day and age. They play sleaze-ball rock, with fuzzy guitars and sloppy solos, and make no aplologies for it. They are a great band and are currently opening for The Strokes on their N. American Tour.

The lyrics follow the same sleaze-rock formula that the band abides by, with most songs about either sex or the devil. Although not the most tasteful lyrics ever written, it provides a fun addition to the fuzzed out guitars and killer rhythm section. Singer/guitarist Jesse Hughes actually sounds a lot like Josh Homme on tracks like "Speaking In Tongues" and "So Easy."

I personally prefer this album to their latest effort "Death By Sexy," and though some of the songs sound similar, it makes for an entertaining, exhilerating listen. They have a pretty fresh sound, so I suggest you check them out.
