Sound — 6
You know what, yes you can draw comparisions to Joy Division, but to say the style and vocal delivery is the same is, well not entirely accurate. For starters the sound is a bit more heavier and tighter than joy division (Bullets for example) and the vocals are delivered in an emotional, yet not too lazy manner, but all in all yes, there are plenty of comparisons to be made, that's not to say this isnt a great sounding album however, just not revolutionary. While there's no riffs that you'll just have to learn to play, there are some amazing melodies which are fantastically complimented by the dark music provided by the band.

Lyrics — 7
There seems to a theme of "Disease" in this album, whether this is in the phsyical sense of the word or the mental sense, with songs like bullets and blood, which seem to be written about someones alcohol addiction. There are also some fantastic emotional songs such as fall which is just vocally delivered amazingly with so passion and understanding.

Overall Impression — 7
For a first album this is a great start, and is surprisingly a really easy listen, with melodies that'll be in your head all day (Munich). Some complain about the amount of filler, but to be honest bar the last two songs which I don't really think are anything too great, this album is a fantastic listen and at the knock down price it's at right now in most shops you would be stupid to miss out! I got mine for 1.99 so really it couldnt dissapoint!

once again another narrow minded american metal fan. the band's guitars don't go chugga-chugga, and they're not from america or scandinavia, so therefore they're bad? listen to it! it has a darker soul than many metal albums. good album - they should be bigger

these reviews suck! tom sounds like hes yawning, so what he has a different style to his voice, and no not like ian curtis who is also a legend, tom probably conveys so much emotion in his voice without going into generic style singing, and if your comparing them to joy division then great as joy division are legends and they both have a dark soul like quality, but if youre saying they copy them will your totaly wrong and narrow minded, editors have their own style of playing, and tom and ians lyrics are very much different. be it the dark atmosphere is similar they soon change that with an end has a start. editors are legends and will be forever in my eyes. love you tom and chris!!!!!
