Overall Impression: What's Happened To Everclear? Learning How To Smile (LHTS) is by far the worst record Everclear has ever made. Now don't get me wrong. I love Everclear and I love the record. But what a disapointment when I put the CD on and All i hear for 45 min. is pop sounding knock-off junk. I was expecting another Santa Monica or Father Of Mine. But instead I hear banjoes, mandolins, strings, horns and ukalale's. But I guess you can credit the soft pop sound to the roots of how this record came to be. Frontman of Everclear (Art Alexakis) wanted to make a solo record. But instead ended up playing it for the other members and they made it into an everclear record. But I will give this to Everclear. They're alot more instrumentaly experimental now. The past 2 records have been guitars and drums and keyboards. Now they're experimenting so good for them. // 6
