Fall Out Boy: From Under the Cork Tree

Sound — 10
Sounds nothing like the band's first record, Take This To Your Grave. It's a refreshing change, but it's the same direction the rest of the pop-punk genre is going towards. More raw, and agressive than Take This To Your Grave. Overall, it still gets 5 stars.

Lyrics — 10
Pete Wentz is a lyrical genius. Tons of hooks and catchy choruses. Long song titles could be the only downfall, but at least it's a change from the rest of the world. The lyrics are full of truth and bitterness. More mature than the first record. Again, 5 stars.

Overall Impression — 10
Overall, this CD is incredible. Fall Out Boy have moved on from the typical pop-punk sound, this CD is a lot more raw and emotion-filled, compared to Take This to Your Grave. They let it rip and took a chance, and it payed off big time. Overall, it gets 5 stars.
