Third full studio album by Finntroll, but not the first release with their new singer, Tapio Wilska. While the last album, "Jaktens Tid", was actually pretty happy sounding, this is totally different. Tapio Wilska has a deep voice, and also the songs are way harder than before. Album begins with "Vindfärd", just sound of wind and Tapio yelling in background, and then comes the "Människopesten" and dear god it's angry song. After minute of the growling and killing the humppa starts, but it's stitt pretty damn heavy. Next song begins with funny sounding piano humppa but goes heavy after that, and third song "Fiskarens Fiende" doesn't make any difference. After heavy beginning comes the legend itself: "Trollhammaren"! It's not that hard song after when compared to others in album. After that comes the "Nattfödd" with all it's rage and horror. And the list goes on. Album is very, VERY heavy which isn't that bad thing after all. They also have the folk/troll feeling in all those songs. Can't really say anything that bad, expect they have gave up all the humppa verses like those they had in songs "Jaktens Tid" or "Midnattens Widunder". Also this isn't so "fun" to listen, not so many happy folk melodies.

As I mentioned before, the singer changed. Katla couldn't keep singing, so they took Tapio Wilska. A little funny fact is that Wilska actually sang the clean parts on song "Midnattens Widunder". Tapio's voice is very deep and totally opposite of Katla's high voice. That means slow and heavy songs. His voice sure fits perfectly in the songs and he does his job well. Lyrics are the same troll vs. Christians or other similiar themes, like "Det Iskalla Trollblodet" wich is about trolls who get killed in a fight and go to their heaven. Can't really see much to whine about, except Wilska's voice being a bit "one way"; he can't sing very high and he pretty much just growls everything.

But after all I have to say: "Jag tykke mykke trollen". Or something like that. It's hard to compare this album to others as this is very different from others. It really depends on your mood; If you're wanting to listen some relaxing folk stuff, this isn't the best album (with the exception of "Trollhammaren" - song). But still it's good album and is one of the most memorable albums Finntroll has made and will remain like that.
