Sound: Gear a raucous post-garage-punk band have it. With monumental guitar riffs and the power to get you up off you ass and jump, the void for a band to fulfill this desire, is here in the form of - Gear. The opening riff of this single lets you know, this band are building up, building up to an explosion of distortion and beefy bass lines, accompanied by a drum line, which quite frankly overwhelms you. This single is an anomaly in the music of the modern world, it is decent. With influences from great artists such as the Pixies, Placebo and David Bowie, this band cannot fail to leave a trail of fans wherever they pursue to go. // 10

Lyrics: The lyrics of this song are to be taken note of, they could only be written by someone with a certain amount of eccentricity. With vocals by the idiosyncratic Ross Matheson and the use of different singing techniques, such as the use of falsetto, allows the lyrics to be pursued as bustling with energy. The vocal line is often harmonized by chords from both Matheson and Dan Colagiavanni, this helps to fulfill the characteristics of this band. // 10

Overall Impression: This band cannot go un-noticed for long, and by recruiting a large number of fans at last years Glastonbury, they are destined to be big. Touring with giants such as The Buzzcocks and including the use of power drills during their live sets, this band must be seen live. The B-Side Electro Naste is one of those songs that is somehow sexy, with a bass line, re-enforced with chords which cannot go un-missed makes you feel as if you need to see this band, as the sheer atmosphere of the performance would excite you. This band allows you to re-discover the passion that was once there for music. With songs that could never become mainstream, this band tell us that the one band needed to fulfill the need for decent songs is here. // 10
