Green Day: 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hour

Sound — 10
This albumn isn't that far off the kerplunk sound really, with some pretty cool fast solos not usually associated with Green Day. The sound is what you would expect from an earlier younger Green Day you can hear the difference from this album to Dookie, Dookie is just more grown up. I cant see any reason why this couldn't have been green days breakthrough albumn.

Lyrics — 10
The lyrics are typical bored youth, fed up with my girlfriend, weed smoking depression type. I'm not saying they're not really well written or cleverly constructed though cuz they are! You'll find yourself singing along to some real catchy riffs that fit the lyrics.

Overall Impression — 10
My fave songs without a doubt are don't leave me/dissapearing boy/ and 16 they're not too hard to play but sound so good and the bass lines are wondering all over the place, amazing. I would definitely buy it again if I lost it. The nearest thing to this album is kerplunk.
