John Fogerty: The Long Road Home In Concert [DVD]

Your C.C.R. collection will never be complete until you have this one in your possesion. This DVD features John Forgerty in the heat of a live performance performing hits such as "Fortunate Son" and "Down On The Corner". This is a rather modern concert filmed in 2006 so it is just John Forgerty playing solo. The Sound is edited to perfection. Forgerty has proffesional musisians backing him but in my opinion it would have been a lot better if Creedence were backing him.

This concert is a modern concert featuring songs off Forgerty's latest album, "The Long Road Home". Forgerty opens with the well know "Travelin' Band" before moving into a steady "Green River". During the middle of the DVD Forgerty plays a selection of his newer songs before going out in style with a build up of hits leading up to "Proud Mary". All though it was "The Long Road Home" in concert I would have prefered it if Forgerty had played more of his well known songs as there is very little footage of them. There is also a bonus video clip for "Deja Vu (All Over Again)".

Production Quality — 9
It isn't the largest audience that John Forgerty has played to and the stage isn't very large but the producer has cuptured the adrenelin off the crowd. The lights are how they should be, adding effect but not taking over. There are a variety of camera angles and modern lights.

Overall Impression — 8
This is easily the best collection of live Creedence songs on the market. It is recorded expertly and proffesionally. This DVD is probably more interesting for dedicated Fogerty fans than Creedence fans but if you see it at a resonable price, buy it.
