Jonny Lang: Turn Around

Sound — 10
Jonny Lang is arguably one of the best modern blues artists out there today. Turn Around displays Lang's blues ability perfectly. His mix of swinging blues riffs, blazing solos, and some acoustical mastery make this an album that most blues fans will surely appreciate, and possibly attract some new members to the blues community.

Lyrics — 10
Listening to this album, one can hear the emotion that Jonny puts into his songs. If you have the chance to see him perform live, you will easily see that he is playing from within. Turn Around is no exception. Jonny has a special talent for someone so young to play the blues from deep inside. Some tracks that impressed me include Bump in the Road, Don't Stop (for Anything), and My Love Remains. The first two are good rockin blues tracks, while the latter is an easy-listening acoustic song. Again, all of the songs have deep and meaningful lyrics that the listener can feel Lang pulling from the inside.

Overall Impression — 9
This is another great album put out by an accomplished blues artist. Jonny Lang definitly delivers a type of music that very few artists today are capable of creating. The only thing I don't like about the album is the fact that there is nothing new compared to Lang's previous works. Other than that, this is a solid album that most blues fans should enjoy.
