Sound: Klaxons are the future of Music. No doubt about it. Beautiful vocals, screeching keyboards, dirty basslines and infectious drum-beats invade this debut album to create tunes that will stay in your head for weeks. The tracks switch between rowdy rave anthems and calm ballads, but either way, they are similiarly catchy and brilliant. // 9

Lyrics: The lyrics are, to say the least, odd. Yet, strangely, they blend amazingly with the rowdy melodies to create a confusing yet beautiful sound experience. Take these lyrics for example, from the 4th Track, 'Totem On The Timeline': "At Club 18-30 I met Julius Caesar, Lady Diana and Mother there'sa." Not exactly your average lyrics, but they are masked beneath Jamie Reynold's voice, which conveys bucket loads of emotion. // 9

Overall Impression: Compared to the other Space-Age bands out there (CSS, New Young Pony Club, etc.) there is no real challenge. Klaxons are infectious. The real stand out songs on this album are "Atlantis To Interzone", a storming party anthem, "Golden Skans" which is 'the ballady one', "Magick", which was the pre-release single and the Paul Oakenfold remixed track "It's Not Over Yet". For anyone that doesn't own this CD yet, I strongly advise you to get it. Even if, from what you've heard of them so far, they don't seem to be your cup of tea, just buy it anyway. I guarentee, that within 3 listens, you'll be infactuated. Have you been bitten by The Klaxons bug yet? // 9
