Metallica: Metallica

Sound — 6
Metallica's 5th studio album "The Black Album" has differnt sounds from the other other albums. Kirk whips out his Crybaby Wah pedal on most of the solos, James takes a break from his downpicking, Jason has a better bass sound. This is a more mature Metallica. There not the "speed metal" band from Kill'Em All. Or the thrash metal band from MOP or AJFA. There more of a hard rock band on this album.

Lyrics — 8
The lyrics on this song are more deep. Nothing Else Matters has lyrics about love, a more mature version of Fade To Black, The Unforgiven has the most emotional lyrics I've ever heard from Metallica. If you listen to the lyrics of the "Kill'Em All" album and you hear the lyrics on this album, you'll see how Metallica has changed during the past years.

Overall Impression — 8
Ever since the '90s Metallica has changed alot. This is a good album and I would recommend to all the Metallica fans. Or if you don't like metal at all this a good album to start off with. So go buy this album even if your a emo kid who likes Good Charlotte!
