Metallica: Ride the Lightning

Sound — 10
This album is full of deep, harmonic riffs with a couple of heavy songs. A very 'light' song, Fade To Black, puts a good atmosphere in the album. Then there are the two masterpieces, Ride The Lightning and for Whom The Bell Tolls. You should buy the album for just these two because they are the best!

The main theme of the lyrics is of different forms of death. Suicide, drowning, electrocution. They are mostly written by James and Lars. They don't get a five because in some songs they get a bit repetitive.

It is my favourite cd and if were lost or stolen I'd definetaley go out and buy a new copy. As I already said, the best songs are Ride The Lightning and for Whom The Bell Tolls. The whole album sounds really good and the only bad thing in my opinion is Call Of Ktulu. It just doesn't fit in with all the other songs. Escape isn't really up to scratch either but the album can't be perfect can it. This is a must-buy. Rock on James!
