Sound — 10
Ride the Lightning is a Metallica's follow up album to theier first album "Kill'Em All." The sound on this album is suberb, each song is unique way, unlike Kill'Em All were alot of em use the same thing over and over. The sound has more structure to them. The style of this album is of course Metallica (metal indeed), killer riff's, fast palm's, killer solos, interesting drumming, Cliff Burton had become more creative. The only flaw on this album, the bass need to louder!

Lyrics have improved tremendously form Kill'Em All, they have for the most part some meaning (Fade To Black ect), James's voice had become clearer, but on the exeption of Ride The Light (song) he sounds like a 13 year old boy who's voice is changing.

Overall Impression — 10
This is a msudt buy album! Probobly one of Metallica's best. If I broke it I would definiatly buy it again.
