Sound — 10
If you have heard Menos El Oso, then the songs on this EP can be compared to The Fix or The Game Needed Me. If that explanation means nothing to you, then the sound can be explained as Indie meets '80s synth pop, or as some call it "dance punk." Honestly though, such terms as these don't do Minus The Bear justice. The music goes beyond them. It's beautiful, ethereal, and fun all at once.
Lyrics — 9
Some of the funniest song titles I've heard in a while. While trying to find a correlation between the song titles and the lyrics will have you scratching your head, the lyrics are pretty well written. They don't equate to much more than one night stands and drinking, but that fits the mood of the instrumentals anyway. The same could be said for Jake Snider's voice.
Overall Impression — 10
Minus The Bear is only comparable to Minus The Bear in my book. For more on this, check out my review of their latest full length, Menos El Oso. Excellent stuff.
