Nirvana: Nevermind

Sound — 10
Nirvana - the band that attained Immortality in the hearts of music lovers. Kurt Cobain - the spearhead, the man who remains undoubtedly the pain filled hero who just "burnt out" yet remains in the minds of every Nirvana lover, and affects every thought of the listener with his lyrics filled with agony and his voice showing his frustration about life as it is. This is what Nirvana is about, and this is what Nevermind is about, life as it is through their eyes, mind and soul. Rebellious ideals; dope, music, hate, love, pain, that describes the album. There are many hidden secrets of Cobain's life in this album. At the end of the video 'Smells Like Teen Spirit,' there is a guy sweeping up the place. This was a secret of his dark past, he used to participate in the classes etc. of the school and then suddenly the next week he was dropped out and had to sweep the same school in which he previously studied. This disturbing past is the theme for all his classic grunge tracks feautured in this album.

This is perhaps the only reason, Nirvana is not just another band but Nirvana. The dark words, the disturbed soul and the voice stabbed by pain, with awesome music to go with it describes nirvana's songs in Nevermind. Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, In Bloom, Lithium, and Polly. These are the brilliant songs that this album features. And after hearing the words and vocals in these songs Nervermind is the album that one will have to admit, the greatest grunge album ever. This album though is not for the nu-rock/pop listeners. It is for people who are either into old school classic rock or even metal. I would say this is the album which you should discover.

Overall Impression — 9
This is Nirvana's best album, according to me. This is the album for listeners who aren't into the commercial shit we get today. It is the album featuring litrary genius. It is the album that had blown the world away and continues to do so. I reccommend you to listen to this album if you are a true old school lover or a neo rock/pop hater.
