Nirvana: Nirvana

Sound — 8
The simplistic yet catchy guitar riffs are agressive and angry, and help with the mood of the song. Kurt Cobain was a very good writer and guitar player. Dave Grohl, who would later shine in Foo Fighters, plays drums perfectly on this album.

Lyrics — 10
Kurt's lyrics are very personal and moving. From the sarcasticness of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to the deceptively sweet "Heart Shaped Box", his lyrics vary a lot, and portray emotions that we all have felt and can relate to.

Overall Impression — 8
A couple of the best songs on the album are "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Rape Me". If I lost it I would probably buy it again, after loading up on all the other CD's and guitar equipment I've been saving up for. This is Nirvana's final masterpiece, and it makes the cut.
