No Doubt: The Singles 1992-2003

Sound — 10
No doubt's sound has very heavy bass, catchy guitar riffs, up-beat drums, some flowing keyboards, a bit of electronics, and Gwen Stefani's warbling voice. This collection of their hit singles in the past 11 years just gives a true insight on No Doubt's signature sound and style. There's also diversity in the sounds: from the ballads (Underneath It All, Simple Kind Of Life) to the funkier, poppier songs (Hella Good, Hey Baby) to everything in between. You can sense the 80's new wave sound that inspired them and their creative, nicely-arranged music that has inspired many others today.

Lyrics — 10
The lyrics are brutally honest and clear. It all comes from their personal life experience but it also relates to everyone else as well, such as: "Sunday Morning" (which was inspired by the time when Gwen was sick in the bathroom and Tony was serenating her with the acoustic guitar on the other side of the door), "Spiderwebs" (about the guy who kept on calling Gwen all the time to recite awful poetry), "New" (from when Gwen first met her future husband Gavin), "Just A Girl" (their breakthrough hit), as well as many others. Their music and lyrics have went on to inspire and help many many people through their own situations as well as tailing along a devoted fanbase-many who are Gwen look-a-likes.

Overall Impression — 10
I think the songs chosen for this collection are their best songs. There's a good variety of music from each album and style. It's simply the music No doubt's best known for. If this album were stolen yes, I would definitely make it a need to buy it again. I would recommend this album more than any album No Doubt has - to save the money and trouble to get the other ones, because these songs are the best that they've made.
