This is a great punk rock record, upbeat and fast songs. This cd is a great cd to pop in and listen to if you feel like gettin up and startin a mosh pit with yourself. The only real innovations they use is the old "switch the pickup to the muted one to get a cool sound" trick. They use it at the end of songs like "salvation". But all in all the record has a great punk sound to it.

Tim's voice is rather hard to understand in that he mumbles alot of the lyrics very quickly, but with a quick glance at the cd sleeve will reveal these mumbled lyrics. His voice suprisingly goes well with the music, even though he has a tendancy to get a little off time since the lyrics are sung so fast. Punk music isnt known for its "poetic lyrics" but it isnt all that bad, it goes along with the music and thats the way it should be.

Overall Impression — 8
This is my favorite album from rancid, probably cause it was the first one i was introduced to. The strongest songs on this record include "Radio", "Salvation" and "St. Mary". The cd has 23 tracks, and this is probably my least liked thing about the record. One fourth of the songs arent too great and are farely short, but i can get past that. If this cd were stolen i wouldnt be hesitant to buy another copy, just cause its a great cd to just pop in and bang your head too.
