Sectorial: We Are The Titan's Rising Ashes

Sound — 9
The Ukrainian metal band Sectorial with its second full-length album release loudly declares that development of heavy music genres in Ukraine also exists. The recording took place in Kyiv's Motron Sudio. On the 10th of August "We Are the Titan's Rising Ashes" was released via Noizr Productions.

The tracklist is a bit shorter now and consists of 10 songs with their total duration of 38 minutes. It makes the album easy to perceive and allows the listener to estimate each of the songs, which are based on clearly expressed emotions with the main theme of human interaction with the external world. "W.A.T.R.A." becomes one of the few metal releases in Ukraine, performed in their native language.

The sound of the band's album is noticeably more saturated. The record is full of aggression, expressed in powerful guitar riffs, thunderous blast bit and extreme furious vocals. The group successfully combines different genres, skillfully approaching black/death metal and featuring ethnic music. Traditional musical instruments are used as the album's peculiarity and the Sectorial's branded sound: flute, drymba, tambourine, whistles and others. Heavy guitars and squally percussions are brightened up with the thrilling sound of Ukrainian flavor. That's why CD's general atmosphere seems to be so tangible and its music is full of nature spirit and wonder.

Lyrics — 9
Theme of nature becomes the basis of the lyrical material. Most of the songs include various description of nature, environment and its interaction with humans. Powerful extreme vocal sounds very professionally engaged in some compositions with back vocals. It greatly enhances the overall atmosphere and the moral underline meaning of some album's verses. The lyrics with the sound of main and secondary instruments fully transmit the emotional content of the songs.

Overall Impression — 9
Among the songs we may note fast and heavy "Enough Skills," "Abysmal" and "Summer Night: Breath of the Boundless Steppes." "The Embers" becomes quite distinctive instrumental track, a beautiful harmony of saturated guitars, acoustic and flute. In general, the band's work performed at a high level. Harmonize and high quality music is not the only advantage of the album. We should also mention the deep meaning of the lyrics and the certain moral background of each song.
