Sound: Stratovarius really bring out the best in their signature power metal sound on this record. The opening track Hunting High and Low immediately gets the listener into the sound of the music and Jens' keyboards were a good idea to add to the intro. Phoenix is a good example of a more conventional song yet stillis unique because it has a vocal part unlike any other Stratovarius song. Jens song Glory of the World has a riff that sounds a lot like Why Are We Here and his songs tend to sound the same a lot but aside from that this record from The Legion of the Twilight is superb. Not as well refined as Visions or Episode, but still very well done. // 9

Lyrics: Timo Kotipelto=arguably the best power metal vocalist in the history of the genre. Most would say either Mikael Kiske or the guy from Blind Guardian (eff! I can't remember his name)! Tolkki writes most of the lyrics again on this record and still keeps his epic mystical themes with the words. Kotipelto does a fabulous job working in his singing in a way that captures the listener's attention and makes the listener want to sing along... if they could sing that high! // 10

Overall Impression: Visions=best power metal album of all time, hands down, in my opinion. Nothing rivals that album at all and nothing ever will. Infinite is a very solid record but it still has some problems. For example there are two similar sounding songs on here. First, which has already been mentioned, is Glory of the World. Then A Million Light Years Away sounds a lot like Abyss of Your Eyes. The best songs are Hunting High and Low, Phoenix, and A Million Light Years Away. Not the best by Stratovrius but a solid effort. // 9
