System of a Down: Mezmerize

Sound — 10
This album is System's best one yet, it combines many elements of rock/metal. I especially enjoy the arpeggios in Question, the synths in Old School Hollywood. Daron really expresses through his playing, it's like being at an amazing rock concert, where everyone is there. I look forward to their next album, Hypnotize. It's a very balanced combination of the different guitar techniques out there, It's a little too bad there's no tapping. I like how SOAD's tuning is always around the drop-d flat area, so it makes adding little bits to the power chords possible.

Serj is by far one of the most talented vocalists I have ever heard, he can go from raging maniac to docile singer in a split second. His voice is a harmonius instrument, it sort of foreshadows what's coming in the next part of the song. I admire Daron and Serj for being able to write and sing such awesome music.

Overall Impression — 10
I my biased opinion, SOAD's Mesmerize is the best album out there right now. The most impressive songs on the album are all of them. I love the sound of Daron's guitar. I hate that I only have one copy of it. If this album was stolen, I would hunt and kill the person that took it. If it was lost I would buy it again, and again. I probably will because mine's scratched on the Violent Pornography track.
