System of a Down: Mezmerize

Sound — 9
This album is Awesome! I got it yesterday and listened to it, and it rocked. The guitar parts are well thought out, sound great, and a bit weird. The vocals, like SOAD, are strange, but have a message, like political or environmental. Some people gripe about Daron's screaming, but if you get pass that, it still sounds great. The drums are awesome, and I can't help but rock out with it.

Like I said, the lyrics are political, environmental, and weird at some times, especially Violent Pornography, but it's still cool. Serji's voice I always found was pretty cool, and this is no exception. Some people hate Daron for singing, but I say to those people f--k you. I think Daron is great, and I like his vocals on his side project, Scars on Broadway. Though his screams are a little terrible, if you get pass that, it's pretty cool.

This album is one of the best ones I've bought. It all rocks. 01.Soldier side: this a perfect opener, with a great guitar. Very good vocals. 10/10 02.B.Y.O.B.: a single, this is one of my favorites. The guitar sounds sweet, and Serji's voice makes me want to sing along with him. Awesome drums and Bass. Daron's screams are a little annoying, but still great. 9/10 03.Revenga: guitar sounds a little middle eastern at the beginning, but then it kicks into the SOAD sound, and sounds great. Awesome vocals, drums, bass, and of course, guitar. 10/10 04.Cigaro: probably one of the weirdest songs on the album, It starts off with "My cock is bigger than yours". Really weird lyrics, but the guitar makes this song addicting, and so do the drums. 8/10 05.Radio/Video: good opening, I learned it and my friends all think its cool. There's a harmonic at the beginning, but then it starts off getting a little heavy. Then the vocals sound weird, like "hey man, look at me rockin out". Then it kicks into a part with what sounds like accordion. Actually, this one is all right,I like it. 7/10 06.This Cocaine makes me feel like I'm on this song: sounds like good 'ol old SOAD. This song starts out with a heavy riff, then it gets right into the song. Drums are fast and are awesome. Another favorite of mine. Lyrics are a little strange, but still great. 9/10 07.Violent Pornography: a really, really, really weird song. The opening really misleads you, because after it ends, it gets really weird, with what I said in lyrics. But that doesn't mean it sucks. This song is actually another favorite of mine. Might make people feel really weird, but its cool. 8/10 08.Question!: my least favorite, it starts with a acoustic beginning, its all right, but I don't really listen to it so much. But I have to say, the lyrics are one of the best on the album. Drums are okay, Guitars are okay. Everythings okay, except for the vocals, which are awesome. 7/10 09.Sad statue: kick ass. 2 words that describe it. Guitar is awesome, drums are awesome, bass is awesome, and Serji and Daron do an amazing job at vocals. Yet another favorite. 10/10 10.Old school Hollywood: it has a techno opening, which is okay, but then it kicks into metal, which is all right. Not my favorite. 6/10 11.Lost in Hollywood: yet another Hollywood title, it ends the album, which I think is a great ending. It starts with acoustic guitar with a little electric guitar. Daron is singing in the beginning, which is great. Serji sings background, which may sound bad, it really isn't. I think this is the perfect ending. 9/10 I can't wait to buy Hypnotize when I save enough money. If I lost this album, hell yeah I'd get a new copy!
