t.A.T.u.: 200 KmH In The Wrong Lane

Sound — 8
The sound in this album is definitely good. It successfully mixes dance with rock and slow piano. The songs aren't like that of other pop music, since the album has been recorded by 2 very young girls, whose voices are somewhat different to other artists. Unfortunately, some of the sound isn't as professional as it could have been, but this was sorted out on the English translation of the album.

Lyrics — 10
Firstly, the lyrics are all Russian. This makes them extremely emotive and really different to anything else around. The lyrics all co-inside very well with the music, and the language, though abstract, rhymes and sounds excellent. Both Yulia and Lena sing to a very high standard, and have really unique voices, which can be heard on the CD. If you were to translate from Russian, you would find the lyrics to be quite emotive, and also somewhat personal.

Overall Impression — 10
This album cannot really be compared to the English translation - it is simply much better - with more songs, and better, more original remixes, the album stands alone. One of the best songs on the album is probably "Robot" which talks about the 2 girls not being real. It's very catchy and does sounds great. It's not like any standard sell-out pop artist. It's very hard to fault it, only that it has 10 songs, but all are very good. Definitely worth a listen, you could be in for a shock.

Give t.a.t.u. another album or two, and you'll be eating your words to these jesters of excellent, ironic-pop.
