The Darkness: Permission to Land

Sound — 8
This album generally rocks. Every song comes complete with a rocktastic solo and ultimate riffs. The overall sound is great and a joy to listen to.

Lyrics — 10
The lyrical topics are genius. 'Black Shuck' is about a legendary black dog who roams the east Anglian countryside. 'Growing on me' has great lyrics and it has been sugested to me it is about genital warts (thing about it). All the other songs have wonderful lyrics and are, as i have already said, a joy to listen to.

Overall Impression — 10
This album has certainly been the highly of the year and having just sold one million records it seems many others agree. The most enjoyable thing about the album is its atmosphere; creating a happy but mainly rocking mood. If I were to loose this album I would buy it again and buy a spare just incase I lost it again. If you dont already own this album then it is your national duty to buy it (regardless of your nationality). The Darkness Rock.
