Sound — 10
This album is the first full length released by this soon to be known band. They combine many elements of punk, electro, post-hardcore, and rock music. On the song "Shell Of The Musician" they have some pretty basic riffs, but the music and lyrics are intricate in their own right, as well as how tight they are "See You Next Time". They even dip into a moderate hip-hop/R&B type of style on "One Dollar Love Affair". One of the best songs on this album though is "Midtro/Take What You Want". The midtro goes straight into the next song, "Take What You Want", the guitar explosion will blow you away. The overall album was very well produced by the band, and the recording is top notch compared to most other non-labeled bands releases.
Lyrics — 10
The lyrics are split between metaphors and literal meaning. They are both intricate and simple. They are able to succesfully employ the screaming into the singing. The lyrics themselves fit very well with the music, he is able to constantly stay in key and has a great voice overall, his voice isn't too thin, or too thick. it has just enough bass to give it some backbone.
Overall Impression — 10
My overall impression to this album is "wow!" The bands previous release This Is The Moment EP, was pretty good in it's own right, and not many Moment fans outside of the Northern IL area have heard their older music that was done with their previous singer. This album is probably one of the must-haves in your collection, it is a unique and interesting album that will keep your attention all the way through. The transitions between are great, the songs are awesome, and the band is just great. I don't think there is anything that I don't like about this album. If this album were lost I would replace it in a heartbeat, no questions asked.
