The Starting Line: Based On A True Story

Sound — 8
I bought this record knowing nothing of Starting Line and hearing nothing besides "Bedroom Talk" and "The B-Sides." I took a chance and a good one. I really enjoyed the CD alot and being a new fan, I didn't think I would love it like I do. It reminds me of Jimmy Eat World's Clarity.

The lead singer (Kenny, I belive) sings very smoothly and has a pure sound. It's not scratchy or anything. The lyrics are awesome, they are not immature or too general. I know "Bedroom Talk" is about Kenny losing his virginity, it is a really good song and the lyrics are perfect. I think he's a great singer.

Overall Impression — 8
I haven't heard their first CD so I don't know if it's better or not. My favorite songs are: "Bedroom Talk," "Photography," "Autography," "The World," "The B-list" and "Inspired By The $." The other songs are great too! If the CD was stolen, I would buy it again. I thing this is a good band to try out if you are looking for another alternative/emo band.
