This CD is awesome because it's not what you expect. Thrice manages to never sound the same while always sounding like themselves. Between their last CD (If only we doesn't count because it is all B-sides and live stuff) Tepei has been learning to play jazz piano, and tossing that in with Thrice's deep and heavy downtuned guitar makes for a unique sound.

Devin is one of the few singer-songwriters today (especially in this genre) that can come up with cohesive, powerful, and interesting lyrics that aren't overly repetitive. That was the first thing that drew me to Thrice, they aren't another Sum41 with lyrics that are made to rhyme with no thought as to what they say.

Overall Impression — 9
I love this CD. It is probably the best I've bought in quite a while. If it were stolen I'd congratulate the guy on getting a really good CD, and then I'd go buy another.
