Sound — 7
This band's sound improves more and more with each disc. You can tell that they are trying definetly to make a career turn ala Deftones did with the masterwork that was White Pony. They incorporate many unlikely instrumentation. It's a nice sound, but it's not a great a disc as many would like you to think.

Lyrics — 4
The lyrics are merely ok. Many would have you believe they're are deep, but like their counterparts Deftones, Thrice tries hard to be abstract. Then, they strike with the rise up lyric that sounds akin to Hatebreeds' we will not back down type poetry. With the sound being not so bad, the disc could've used some good lyrics.

Overall Impression — 4
I'll give Thrice a boost becuase they did stray from not doing the same damn beat like they did in The Artist in the Ambulance. Atlantic is the work of a band growing for the good. The beginning of Red Sky is also another example. It shows a maturing versatility that not many bands have. But two songs don't make an album, and it's hard not to see past the muddle in the middle.
