Sound — 10
Tool has created their own original and inviting sound that makes you want to hear them again and again. With complicated drumlines not just any drummer can pull off, bass lines that do more than follow the guitar, which is rare in rock/metal music, and amazing electric guitar riffs and soounds. Each member of Tool invents their instrument sound and all of them blend together beautifully.

Lyrics — 10
Anyone that listens to Tool knows that Maynard James Keenan is one of the most impressive songwriters of all time. He shows you this with his political lyrics in "Aenema" that say what is on his mind. Other amazing lyrics can be found on "Stinkfist" and "Eulogy". JMK illustrates his lyrics for you but makes you dig deep into his words. The man is a genius, enough said.

Overall Impression — 8
This album was made in 1996, and after hearing it I would have never have guessed it. Tool were ahead of their time. No one else has Tool's unique sound. Though the album is truly a work of art, if you don't try hard enough to focus on the music, you could easily get bored. Numerous songs on this album are amazing, but like any album, it has flaws. This is one of the best CD's you could buy, and it is definately worth your money.
