Thrash metal had died in 1992 after the release of "Vulgar Display Of Power" by Pantera and "Countdown to Extinction" by Megadeth. Many thought that thrash metal would never make a return. But then along came this cocky Floridan Band with plans of world domination and the might Metallica imprinted into their brain cells. Riffs that make you stand up a stare in awe of them. Solos that make people green with envy and choruses that make the masses fall to thier knees in utter disbelif. This is a truly revolutionary record that has changed the world on the level of "Appietite For Destruction" or "Number Of The Beast."

They are not quite perfect but some of them, for example: The Decieved, Like Light to Flies, Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr and Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation are all genius lyrics that sound like many years of work has been put into these songs. But as with every record there are some lyrical low points. The Title Track is not all that brilliant except for the brillinat chorus "Acsend above the ahes of the world I once knew" and "Suffocating Sight" isn't the best by any means. Matt Heafy has a very versitile voice, he can sing and scream without one over powering the other.

Some say that Trivium copy the mighty In Flames but In Flames don't write Thrash Metal, Trivium do and I beleive that they are just as good if not better than In Flames. The album starts with a cool acoustic intro thingy called "The End Of Everything" that is very impressive although makes no sense next to the resr of the album. There is a special edition of the album comming out with a couple of new songs which are Blinding Tears Will Breas The Skies and Washing Me Away With The Tides. The Best Tracks are Rain, Pull Harder, Gunshot, Like Light to Flies, The Deieved, Departure and Declarartion. They are true Thrash Metal gems, already classics with enormous riffs, huge solos, cool lyrics and in the case of Declaration, totally and completly epic. This album has lead to the return of Metal, if you like Metal but Ignore this, more fool you.
