Sound: Unanimated are a very underrated, black/death/heavy metal band from Sweden, nothing like Cradle Of Filth and such. They have similar vocal style (but not as annoying) and very melodic rock guitar parts/harmonys, and some great double drumming. This band struck me and not being as boring and similar as other "black metal" bands, and have a more heavy rock sound blending with the black metal sound. // 8

Lyrics: The lyrics are usually about pain, but very well written. It seem a bit repetitive at times with the theme of pain all the time, but the vocals are intense so it just fits with the music and that's what matters. His vocals are a mixture of death metal growl and black metal screaming. // 6

Overall Impression: The album is great. Blending black metal, death metal but with some rocking guitars, that doesn't make them just black or death metal. My favourite tracks are: the great album opener with the haunting scream 'Life Demise', the brilliant instrumental 'Mirielle', the rocking 'Depths Of The Black Sea' and the almost similar but excellent album ender 'Die Alone'. // 9
