Velvet Revolver: Contraband

Sound — 4
The band had some good singles on the radio, Slither and Dirty Little Thing. But a lot of the songs on the CD sound a lot alike. Before I knew the name of Dirty Little Thing, I had a lot of trouble finding it on the CD. Not being able to tell songs apart is a bad thing, and that is true of this entire CD. And the things that sound different aren't so hot either.

Lyrics — 6
The lyrics don't ever really make an impression or impact, they're just there. They don't really push the song forward, but they don't hinder them either. Scott still has one of the best voices in rock and it still shows here.

Overall Impression — 4
This should be a great band, with GN'R and STP's Scott, but they aren't. Every song sounds so much a like and nothing really stands out. It's not as bad as other crap on the radio now, but it is not worth buying.
