Sound — 8
This album is definately a jazzy-rock with jazz clearly emphasised by Zack and the group. You've got nice, mellow sounding album with singing that feels like it's actually part of the music, and not just an afterthought. Excellent drums that don't overpower the bass, guitars or vocals and set a nice beat along with the guitars.
Lyrics — 10
The lyrics were clearly thought of as part of the songs and not as, "Let's write music, and then add lyrics to it." Zack definately hit a great style that is pleasing to the ears and that has meaning that can be seen at the surface, and also can be interpreted deeply and that people can relate to.
Overall Impression — 10
This album definately has a feel that makes you think that Zack and Nick (311) share quite a bit of creative talent (lyrically and musically). You won't find any lyrics here said just to be said; they all have meaning. Also, can you resist such a great album for $8.99? It almost feels like you stole it once you actually listen to it and hear how good it is.
