Agile: AL-3100 MOP

Sound — 10
I play all styles. Blues, Country, Pop/Rock to Heavy Metal. I play through a Peavey Classic 50 tube amp. I have never played a guitar that has such a full rich tone whether it be on the bridge pickup or the neck pickup. Every Les Paul I have played has sound quite muddy on the neck pup but this tone is amazing!

Overall Impression — 9
I have played guitar for 22 years and on stage for the past 11 years. I can't remember how many guitars I have owned in the past. My current list of guitars consist of ESP, Fender USA, Dean, Ibanez, and even a couple cheap guitars. 9 total. The one downside to buying the guitar was I was unable to play it before purchasing. I have never bought a guitar without at least trying it out. This one was strictly bought on consumer reviews. I could not be any happier with my purchase. It was either the HSBF 3100 or the Silverburst. Well the Silverburst won. You can guarantee that I will purchase the HSBF. My new Agile 3100 silverburst was put to the test against my friends Gibson Les Paul. I don't say this lightly, but it was easily comparable to the Les Paul. In fact the tone was slightly better on the Agile as to the Les Paul. For the money YOU CANNOT GO WRONG. I would purchase 5 of these for the same price of a mid line Gibson Les Paul.

Reliability & Durability — 10
Like any professional gigging musician, you never play a show without a backup guitar. I would feel very confident in playing this guitar in a show without a backup. Everything piece on the guitar says quality. Stays in tune without issue. Both volume and tone controls are extremely smooth. No crackling or static.

Action, Fit & Finish — 10
When I received the guitar the action was a little low resulting in a slight buzz on the low E when played open. Intonation was a little out which was easily adjusted. I am quite particular about my guitars (condition etc.). This guitar looks better than the pic on the website. I haven't found anything wrong with it at all.

I just got my custom Agile 3xxx with a wide neck, abalone trapezoid inlays, tripple binding, alnico 5, solid body mahogany, among other appointments. I can not say enough how it far surpassed my expectations. I've been playing guitar for 30 years and a great deal on stage in large venues. the guitar has surpassed my gibson standard as the favorite in my collection of many guitars. Craftsmanship was impeccable. one of the things i like to do is bring the sting play down to the very minimum so i can judge the quality of the neck. As i lowered it to the point where string buzz against the fret, i noticed as i checked every single fret on every single string up the board, that they all buzzed the same and as i raised it, they all stopped buzzing at the same point. an indication that the frets are very precisely crowned and the board is extrememly true. My gibsons do not pass this test as accurately. then i test intonation and found that the placement of the frets is very precise- meaning that if when half string (13 fret) is perfectly in tune with the nut, all theo ther frets are perfectly reporting their note. So impressed. then i compared sustain, resonance and voice quality, fkn impeccable, compared to my gibson standard, i say this guitar can replace my gibson any day. I was looking for a guitar ic ould take to shows and not be so worried about theft, hoping i could also get the quality. BANG! found it.

    So true.....
Hi there. I was wondering, whether there is any cheaper way of buying any guitar(Particularly SX Hawk SKY 3TS) from Because it's a pity when shipping to my country costs 149$ and guitar itself 90$. Any ideas on that?
Guitar price is indeed acceptable just the shipping is REALY overpriced, so I would appreciate any ideas, thanks
If you are ordering from Canada, the shipping charge includes brokerage and duty fees. I am the one that reviewed the AL3100 Silverburst. Still have the guitar. Infact I had both the Agile and a Gibson Les Paul Custom. I sold the Gibson and kept the Agile. The quality was better on the Agile.
