Sound — 10
I have 2 guitars. A Les Paul and this. The Paul is for my rock and this guitar is for my heavier stuff (Metllica, Ozzy, Pantera) and it suits it amazingly. The Bill Lawrence humbucker delivers amazing distortion. I run it through a Spider II 30 amp with a DS-1 distortion and a Cry Baby wah (Dunlop). Its very quiet and the sound is unbeatable if you love Dime's sound. You can also achieve sounds of Randy Rhoads, Zakk Wylde, etc. This guitar can handle rock and metal but I say its useless for anything else. The whammy/Floyd rose also helps alot in giving you a wider variety of sounds.

Overall Impression — 10
This guitar is used for my metal playing and I couldn't have picked a better guitar. I've been playing for about 2 years and I own this, an Agile les paul, Spider II amp, DS 1 distortion pedal and a dunlop cry baby wah. I had no concerns when I was buying this guitar and it met all of my expectations. If it were lost or stolen I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I love the finish more than anything. Theres nothing Id change about it. My favorite feature is the Whammy. Hard to restring at first, but you catch on to it. You can only compare this to other Dime guitars but this is better. Mainly because of the finish and the Bill Lawrence pickup. I was so excited to hear Dean is reissuing and mass producing the Deans from hell now. Once I saw this, I immediatly decided to get one. Its my dream guitar.

Reliability & Durability — 10
I would definatly gig without a backup but I do have a backup anyway because no matter what guitar you have, youd have to be a fool to gig without a backup. Especially if you break a string with a floyd rose, you will need 15 minutes or more to restring it. The hardware is definatly solid and the strap buttons are standard size but I put in straplocks because this guitar is not worth damaging. This guitar has to be the most gigworthy guitar ever. As I said before, everything is built to last. Finish, electronics, everything is built to last and is solid.

Action, Fit & Finish — 10
The guitar came with a slightly high action for my taste. The pickups were set up perfectly. The finish is amazing and the bridge was routed fine. there were no flaws whatsoever. This guitar has an extraodinary finish and the guitar and finish is built to last.

Features — 10
Made in 2005 but I'm not sure where it was made. I think the USA. 22 frets, 3/4" scale. Mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fretboard. Beautiful black and blue with lightning bolts finish. Cant quite explain the body. Its Dime's famous shape. The bridge is a Floyd Rose with a Bill Lawrence humbucker in the bridge and a Dime neck pickup. It has 3 knobs, 2 tone 1 volume. A 3-way Switch. It has Grover tuners. It came with a custom hardshell Dean case.

that guitar is beat up because its the ORIGINAL dean from hell that Dime won when he was a teenager. the ****ing thing is 25 years old.

Oh, for ****'s sake. You're all kidding, right? This guitar was modeled after one of Dime's first Deans. The reason it looks so beat up is beacuse that's how the original Dean From Hell was. Dime trashed the shit outta that guitar, and that's the way it was intended to look.

That may be Dime's real origonal guitar, but you are misinformed. Dean did make a limited edition run of 100 exact replicas of Dime's origonal DFH, they went for around 4 grand and has all the same nicks and scratches in the finish, along with the KISS stickers on the V wing. Check the Dean website.

i bought one today. yes the legends are true. IT FUCKING ROCKS!!!! the action is low and fast playing, the pickups are set perfectly. it even has the melted holes in the knobs and electrical tape on the pickup Dimebag had. overall its a kick ass guitar and i would urge anyone whos thinking of buying it to damn well go for it

This guitar has the Dean V neck profile that is usually only found on high-dollar Dean's. It isn't quite as nice as the USA one, but it is still pretty good. The Dime-O-Flame and Razorbacks have this neck too.

most of you are idiots, the picture is of dime's DFH guitar. Dean is a great company and wouldn't sell a guitar in that condition to customers

Does anyone know how high the action is on this guitar, or the Dime O Flame, and if the action can be made really low without any buzzy sounds. Also how thick is the neck of either of those guitar. Thanks Alot whoever to ever can be bothered helping

Yer the reason it look screwed up in the picture is cos its some special edition and its meant to be like dimes guitar on cowboys from hell, which was probably a bit screwed
