Sound — 4
This is where this guitar falls short of the mark. The stock pickups aren't very versatile or pleasurful to listen to. Not very much variety at all when it comes to this guitar. When used with a clean sound, it just sounds like fat rubbish. No clarity at all. It can handle high distortion levels without being overly noisy, but this guitar still wouldn't satisfy those looking for a true SG sound. Pickup replacement recommended.

Overall Impression — 7
This guitar would be a decent guitar if you play hardcore/metal rock, however, if you are to the point where you are playing with other people in a band, I would look much further. This guitar is a great beginners guitar. Compared with other guitars in the price range, this one is defiantly above average. I love the action. Overall, if you are looking to get your first electric guitar, make it this one. If you are looking to get a 2nd or 3rd guitar, look further or replace the pickups.

Reliability & Durability — 8
I've played one gig with this guitar, and that was when I played a 25 minute opening act. It lasted nicely. This guitar does go out of tune quite a bit, but that is expected for the price. Overall, I can depend on this guitar pretty nicely. I've never ran into any Durability problems other than what I have explained in the section above.

Action, Fit & Finish — 6
The action of this guitar was a little bit above what the average guitar is set up as. The pickups could have been adjusted much better. The neck pickup simply needs constant adjusting. The pickup selector also seems to be a little loud at times. The finish is a very pretty midnight black color.

Features — 7
For the price, you really can't do much better. While I would personally recommend changing the pickups, this is still a pretty nice guitar for the buck.
