My EX-351D is a 2004 Korean guitar with a short scale neck (24.75 inch) and fitted with 22 jumbo frets. The guitar features a metal plate on top. The neck is a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and the guitar features a mahogany explorer body. The guitar is finished in black with the grey metal plate. The guitar is equipped with a Tune-O-Matic bridge and passive EMG HZ humbucking pickups in a H-H configuration. It has a Volume knob, a tone knob and a 3-way pickup selector switch. It comes with a custom hardcase.

Sound — 7
This is designed to be a metal guitar so it is not as versatile. It sounds slightly dark, bit it suits metal. It is really nice on the neck pickup on clean parts when played through my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp. It works great with chorus pedals. The guitar sounds like early Metallica. It also has a nice jazzish sound on the neck pickup. I like also high gain on the neck pickup for some lead playing such as metal ballads. On the bridge pickup, the distortion is not as good. It sounds a bit fuzzy and loose.

Action, Fit & Finish — 6
The guitar has was set up perfectly, it has a nice action and feels nice to play. The pickups were also well set form factory. The body finish also matches the catalog. The neck finish seems like the neck is dirty but I tried to clean it with lemon oil, and it is not dirty it just looks like that. Also, the guitar came with a loose volume knob. It was a quick fix but it required fixing. It also had a loose strap button. Furthermore, the hardware quickly oxidized and the jack socket required to be tightened frequently.

Reliability & Durability — 8
The guitar seems durable but the sharp edged profile of the guitar requires good care of the instrument to avoid damage. The guitar comes with a hardcase that facilitates transportation without damage. The strap buttons seem solid, in fact it is my only guitar still with the original ones, I did not see the need to change them to locking ones. The guitar has corrosion but it is just esthetic and does not disturb the performance of the instrument. Also, with a fixed bridge, it stays in tune for a long time.

Overall Impression — 8
It is not a versatile instrument but it is great for the price it was purchased for a metal guitar. It looks great and it sounds good. I have this guitar for 10 years and I still play it. It is a bit of a problem to carry the guitar in its hardcase in my tiny hatchback car but it fits. I still love playing it. I live the neck pickup sound it sounds slightly dark but it has a full tone. The neck sound is definitely my favorite feature. On the other hand, the neck pickup sound is not as good. I also do not like the neck finish and corroded hardware. Bough for half the price of my American Fender HSS Strat, it has a comparable nice sound at the neck, but the strat sounds better in the bridge position.
