Sound — 9
This guitar is suited for a number of different music styles but I mostly play rock and metal. The pickup configuration gives a variety of different sounds and you aren't limited in any way. The pickups do buzz a little but then again what pickups don't. I am running this guitar through a Boss DS2 pedal and a 100 Watt HiWatt amp. The pickups are but a hotter than normal Ibanez pickups or that's what it sounds like to me. And if you really want a thin sound the single coil pickup provides it.
Overall Impression — 10
I have been playing guitar for about 2 years and this would be my third guitar. My other guitar is a DeLonge Strat and this guitar just doesn`t match the sound of a SD SH-8 Invader which just blows you away. I love everything about this guitar except those shit strap buttons it came with. If it was stolen it would be hard to find another one seeing as Ibanez has discontinued the EDR models.
Reliability & Durability — 9
This guitar will withstand live playing anyday. It is and absolute beast. The luthite body is much heavier and harder than wood. The strap buttons I replaced because it was fitted with a rubbish plastic button which could break at any moment. I would use this guitar without a backup but that would be plain stupid. The finish is very good and if taken care of it could last a life time.
Action, Fit & Finish — 8
The guitar arrived pretty well setup from the factory but the action was too high and the pickups too low. A bit of adjusting was needed but now it plays perfectly. I raised the bridge pickup to its max just to get the highest output possible. The neck is perfect and the bridge is surprisingly easy to set up. The guitar contains no flaws and looks beautiful. It stays in tune pretty well too.
Features — 10
This metallic silver guitar is Korea made, not sure what year. It features a 22 fret, Wizard II maple neck. The body is made out of Luthite which resonates much better than a wooden body, and it has a twin pivot tremolo. It features a H/S/H pickup configuration with a 5-way blade Switch and a volume and tone control. The body shape is based on a Strat but it is much rounder and smaller.
