This amp works great for all those genres.
Line 6 does very well with digital tones and effects for hard rock tones.
With all of my grunge playing its the best amp I've ever tried it with.
Great distortions after you spend the time to tweak with a boatload of artist presets you cannot really go wrong.
I have been playing for 5 plus years.
From time to time, I try to play jazz and dick around with other styles.
Best combo ever, end of discussion covers every tone you will ever want or need..
AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Boston, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ozzy...
The major flaw with the amp is the volume, your saved presets are at a saved volume and if you...
It lacks tone, warmth, and sounds fake. At loud volumes it breaks up, which makes it virtually impossible to play a gig unless it is mic'd up.
I played the III's and I didn't like them.
I wish I had reserched into amps more before I bought it as I would probaly got the Laney LX65...
But the amp falls short in sound quality compared too other amp.
With the exceptional sound quality and volume capabilities, you can't go wrong with this amp.
This amp makes everyone's preference possible due to it's endless possibilities of effects and and distortions.
I play meanly metal and it works really well, and I can play with a band, and it sounds good.
I highly recommend investing in the Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII to give you full control of the amp.
In particular, I find the pitch shifter feature very useful.
