I use this with a Squire affinity strat and there is a little noise but not too much. The clean channel is awesome and is perfect for the blues when it is all the way up, it gives it that good crunch. The Overdrive channel is all right but pretty weak, but seves well just for practice.

Overall Impression — 8
I would say this is a great amp for anybody just starting to play guitar and wanting a cheap, reliable starter amp. But if you have already played guitar for a while I would recommend the mg15 for a practice amp because you get more power and beefier distortion.

Reliability & Durability — 8
This amp is pretty reliable and I've never had any problems with it at all.

This amp has just the basic two channels clean, overdrive, and has a contour knob for the tone. This amp was designed just to be a basic bedroom practice amp.
