Sound — 9
I play both acoustic and electric through this and it's terrific for both. The acoustic is a Breedlove with and LR Baggs M1 Active; the electric is and Ibanez AXD81 (semi hollow) with Seymour Duncan Jazz/JB pups. Excellent accoustic amp, you can really dial in the EQ you want and bring out the true acoustic qualities of your guitar. The SansAmp circuitry is outstanding for creating that perfect tone. Since this IS an acoustic amp first and foremost, it provides incredible clean sound, even at very high volume. It will distort with effects, but not very well on its own. For electric, I use a Zoom effects box going into the DI input and it rocks.

Overall Impression — 9
Playing mostly acoustic folk rock, country and blues, lots of original stuff. Been at it for 30+ years. The "blend" control is great for creating a nearly perfect tube amp sound. If you can only afford one amp, and play mostly acoustic with some electric, this may be as perfect as you'll find. Yes I'd definitely get another one.

Reliability & Durability — 9
Rugged as a truck. Built solid with quality materials. Had some "scratching" noise with a few control knobs and the service folks at Tech 21 were very helpful. Fixed it myself, easy to work on, if needed. Yes I'd gig without a backup.

Guitar channel. Compressor, ranging from 1:1 to 5:1; phase switch; pre-amp control; notch filter; mid shift and mid are sweepable, semi-parametric EQ controls; active tone controls, boost or cut; blend control enables tube emulation circuitry, this is the gem; accutronics reverb. Mic channel. XLR mic input; phantom switch to power a condenser microphone (or any other phantom powerable product); 3-band active EQ controls; reverb mix to control the balance of reverb between the guitar and mic channels. Other features. 12" speaker + high-frequency piezo horn, I added a cut-out Switch because with this horn on, it was just too trebly, even EQ'd down; SansAmp XLR direct out for stage and studio applications allows you to go direct to any mixing console; headphone output, which can also be used as a 1/4" direct out; effect loop; footswitch jack to control the reverb.
