Sound — 10
I'm using mine with a Les Paul Studio and a crappy little amp, but it still sounds great although a more powerful amp is required in my case if I want perfection. The effects always sounds great unless your one of those idiots who takes it out of the box, and the first thing they want to do is turn everything up full and blast some power chords. That my friends is a foolish person indeed. As for effects 22 types of distortion! There are so many great effects, all so easy to use. The choruses and modulations such as flanger and phase modulation are great for giving your guitar a great sound. All in all it sounds great!
Overall Impression — 10
This is excellent for most typers of music especially rock and metal. This is really good choice for new buyers of effects with a bit of cash, and also for experienced players looking for something good. Any bad points? Well Boss have been a little cheeky in making you fork out extra cash fo the power lead which is not essential but this thing goes through 6 batteries at a time. And it can be a bit of a kerfuffle turning on the foot pedal if your sittng down on your sofa like me, but its no problem if your standing. Apart from those very very minor niggles this a superb effects kit. And its built in tuner is handy!
Reliability & Durability — 10
This is a very reliable piece of kit, it is built really well and is very hard-wearing. I would definitly use this at a gig although I would reccomend buying the extra foot pedals for quick patch switching as they can be very useful in a gig.
Ease of Use — 10
Easy to sound out of it you say? Easy as an incredibly tasty cherry pie! The manual is just a waste of box space. Everything is where you want it to be. It is so easy to set up your own patches, just set up your dials and press write, simple! Definitly a choice for peeps in need of some quality easy to use gear.
