Sound — 9
Once you get all of the little tiny knobs and dials set right you can extranct a pretty good sound, but at higher volumes and distortion rates it adds in a butt of static. By mixing it with an amp with built in distortion, and turning both the amp and the pedal to full you can get an extremely harsh feedback tone (kind of like the Jimi Hendrix Star Spangled Banner) from the guitar. I usually end up using the pedal unconventionally but no matter how you use it, it is a good pedal.

Overall Impression — 8
The distortion level is extremely variable and can give you anything from a bit of Overdrive to all out Death Metal. Overall I would suggest buying this to pretty much anyone except people just starting out on the guitar because it might be a little difficult to extract the tone you want from the weird EQ setup.

Reliability & Durability — 9
I've had it for about two years and it's always been perfect, nothing ever goes wrong. Ocasionally the screw to the battery compartment will come lose, causing the pedal to take a wild leap into the air, but nothing seriously wrong besides the fact that the tone is a bit subdued if you don't have it set up just right.

Ease of Use — 6
This pedal is fairly easy to "make noise with" but it takes a bit of finesse to get the two EQ nobs to just the right tone. The lack of a manual didn't help, but a small booklet on Boss pedals gave me some ideas for tones. Not ver well designed but not bad at all.
