DigiTech: Metal Master - Heavy Metal Distortion

Price paid: $ 100

Sound — 7
I use it with different guitars and amps and found that with cheap and not so professional equipment it sounds great - it upgrades the sound, but the pedal lowers the quality of sound if plugged to expensive and professional guitars and amps. No noise noticed. It is good for those who enjoys playing at home or in bars, not at a big stage and has knobs of level, bass, treble and MORPH - the last one gives you an opportunity to change sound timbre from warm old-school to sharp death-metal sound.

Overall Impression — 7
Nice distortion not for beginners. Is one of the best variants for heavy-metal, power-metal, thresh-metal, death-metal. One of its disadvantages is that the pedal can't give clear sound or a little bit overdriven sound - it is always highly distorted even on the level 1. But its "+" is that you get a wide scope of sound (by Morph knob) - other guitarists need to use a number of distortions, phasers and overdrives and you have it all within one box.

Reliability & Durability — 8
You can easily depend on it, because 1) it is heavy enough and that's why hard to break, 2) has an internal battery to play even when the electricity is off. I recommend to use it mainly with transistors-amps 'coz the pedal's sound will be more qualitative than amp's one. But lamp-heads Overdrive is usually degraded by this kind of distortion.

Ease of Use — 8
This pedal is one of the most easiest in use and always gives a great sound, that can be edited any time by its knobs. I haven't got the manual, but I didn't need to, because the pedal understandable enough. All documents and firmware version number is fine.

I bought the Metal Master used off some guy on eBay and have had it for a year or two now and it still works and sounds great. It's heavy duty and you get really good sounds out of it. My friends own the Boss MT-2 and I think this sounds 10x better.
