Every member of the band is a fantastic showman in every way and this really showed through their performance.

Sound: Normally Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante's singing is slightly out, but I felt that it was spot on on this occasion. Although the balance maybe wasn't quite right, their performance was very slick and you could tell that they'd been playing some of the songs for years. I was impressed by Chad Smith's drumming. Some of the fills he used were extremely fast and complicated and his partner in rhythm, Flea was terrific as always. After 23 years in the business, it's a miracle that they're still making original music. // 10

Perfomance: The band played a total of 11 songs including the encore, which was Give It Away. There was 5 new ones from Stadium Arcadium, including the single Dani California. John mostly used his white Strat but switched to his Gibson hollowbody for Californication and used an acoustic from Desecration Smile. Flea used variations on Fender P-Basses the whole way through. Every member of the band is a fantastic showman in every way and this really showed through their performance. The set list was: 01. By The Way 02. Dani California 03. Charlie 04. Scar Tissue 05. Tell Me Baby 06. Desecration Smile 07. Snow 08. Californiacation 09. Can't Stop 10. Under The Bridge 11. Give It Away. // 10

Overall Impression: All the new material was absolutely superb and I'm definately looking forward to the new album. I think the show benifited from having such a small crowd of roughly 1,000. This was because it was an exclusive concert recorded for Top Of The Pops over here in the UK (can see the entire thing 30th April 7:30pm BBC2. However, the audience were all legit Chilis fans because you either had to be on the guest list (like me), win a competition on their site or queue outside overnight to get in. The audience were so up for it thanks to the quality of the performance and we went totally nuts during Give It Away. Entrance was free, so it was, of course, great value. I'd advise everyone to grab tickets if you havn't already to their upcoming tour and I'd definately go to their next gig. // 10
