Silverstein: Australia (Sydney), June 3, 2006
They had some audience involvement in parts but not enough in my opinion. Good atmosphere though.

Sound: The lead singer of Silverstein had a good voice but at the same time put on a great show. The band had the usual drum kit, two guitars, a bass and a vocalist. They stayed true to their recordings, but the concert on a whole was too loud. I mean loud is good, but there's a point where it just distorts in your ears and it sounds better when you block your ears. I like to be able to recognize songs. // 7

Perfomance: The two opening bands got the crowd pumped for Silverstein and when they finally came out the moshpit went off. Everyone was just being crushed, jumping around and trying to crowd surf from the back of the moshpit. Parts of the moshpit collapsed a few times but everyone there was cool except the sissy emo kids Who stood up the back crying. The set was pretty plain, just a backdrop of Discovering the Waterfront but I didn't pay to see pretty lights. The best songs they played were "Smashed Into Pieces", "Hear Me Out" and "Discovering The Waterfront". They had some audience involvement in parts but not enough in my opinion. Good atmosphere though. // 8

Overall Impression: They played in a average sized venue at Sydney Uni on the 3rd of June, 2006. The opening bands were The Getaway Plan and I Killed The Prom Queen. Both were OK but the moshpit didn't really kick up until Silverstein came out. I Killed The Prom Queen were the second band to play (and the heaviest out of all three) and when they came out that attracted all the idiots to the moshpit but Silverstein's act went off. The whole concert was too loud and I had concert ear for the next few days which wasn't good. I probably have permanent ear damage too which also sucks. The tickets were well worth the $32 Australian that we paid for them. The highlight of the show was definately when Silverstein finished their set and walked off the stage then everyone in the venue started chanting "One more! One more! One more!" and eventually Silverstein came back out and everyone went nuts then the lead singer said "Is it ok if we do two more?" and everyone went even nutsier. Then on the second of their last two songs the lead singer of I Killed The Prom Queen came out and started singing with Silverstein and the band members of The Getaway Plan crowd surfed over the moshpit. Awesome show, well worth it. Take some ear plugs though. // 7
