Sound: Switchfoot sounded simply awesome. The opening band was a little quiet and there was a lot of bass but when Switchfoot came out the sound was amazing. Jon sang great and the band played very well. John used a Gibson SG and an X-Plorer as well. There were two other guitar and they were both Les Pauls. The bass sounded awesome and so did the drums even though they were back a little far on the stage. Overall they sounded amazing and Jon's voice blended perfectly with the music. They played the songs flawlessly and I was impressed. // 10

Perfomance: They performed flawlessly. They have a lot of energy on stage and I think they worked together perfectly. All their songs had special touches and I really enjoyed the opening. All the lights went off and tim started playing the intro to ammunition. Everyone else came in with their parts and when the distortion came in the lights turned on and they went nuts playing that song. They didn't play anything from albums before The Beautiful Letdown which kind of dissapointed me but I still enjoyed it alot. They also played some of their new songs like Nothing Is Sound, Lonely Nation, and Stars. Their new songs are just as awesome as all the ones they have so far. They really did a good job of talking with the crowd and in the middle of Stars, they stopped playing and Jon took a moment for everyone to look at the stars. Then he said asked for everyone to take a picture to remember the moment and when he counted to 3 everyone took their picture. He was great with the audience and went all over the place during This Is Your Life. Another cool part of the performance was during the intro to the last song which was Meant to Live, Jon and their other guitarist Jerome went on opposite ends of the stage. They stood on platforms and when they each played their part the platform would shine a light on them and so they answered each other back and forth each being lit up as they played their part. It was a nice touch to that song and that last one really got the crowd going. Once again, I was amazed at how well they performed. // 10

Overall Impression: Overall Switchfoot performed wonderfully. They put on a great show even though some people in the crowd were only there to hang out. I didnt like that there were many people who showed up at the show who werent into it. Other then that there was nothing to not like about this show. The tickets we had were free because they came to state fair but I would have paid good money to see these guys play. There were some awesome moments in the show like when they performed Twenty Four and all the lighters and cell phones came out, or during Stars when everyone who had a camera took a picture at the same time. Jon did a great job of taking time to talk to the audience and he you could tell that they put a lot of effort into making a great show for everyone. They were so energized during the whole show and played their hearts out. If they ever come back I will definately go to see them again. // 10
