Sound: Velvet Revolver are on tour for their second album 'Libertad'. Having seen them some years back when they toured for their first record, notable changes can be seen (and heard) and a lot of good progression has been made from their debut tour. Firstly, due to the nature of the structure of many of the songs in Libertad, the band has become a lot tighter during this tour. Individual instruments are a lot more defined and the guitars especially have a more broadened range of voicings and roles in songs. And with the experienced they have accumulated, the band now seemed to know what sounds they are looking for and how they are going to execute it on stage. // 9

Perfomance: The combination of sheer stage presence and a few thousand near-possessed fans took this gig to a whole new level. There's no point in going into pinpoint details in the events of that fateful night. The venue is one of a personal favourite of mine, Brixton is a truly remarkable place, and it has its own voice and unique acoustics, and Velvet has exploited to its fullest potential. All I can say is money well spent. // 9

Overall Impression: When a band like Velvet Revolver carries such experience and Fame to this degree, expectations naturally are naturally very high from the audience's point of view, fan or non-fan. The fact is, as a band Velvet Revolver has matured wonderfully, and they have increasingly have been a lot more daring and experimental with what songs they can produce. The fact is witnessing Velvet Revolver on stage was europhic and even nostalgic. The times where the shadow of Guns N' Roses loomed over Slash, Matt, and Duff are starting to fade away and their new brand name is starting to get a firm foundation to build upon. If your disappointment lies in their second album, since I initially was, then take a chance by seeing them on stage. As a supergroup, Velvet are certainly more confident in a Live setting and can totally provide an unforgettable night out for most fans. With the help of a great venue and a insane crowd, Velvet have proven to a notable level that they are in a league of their own in terms of stage presence and rockability. If there are truly such things as gods on earth, perhaps they are the closest thing to it. // 9
