This is a nice pickup, this pickup can be used for lots of styles. I use a crate head with a marshall cab. I put this in a cheap Squier Tele Bullet it sounds like a fender quality guitar. I also have a lot of effects. This pickup sounds great on clean it is crystal clear. It is good on distortion but does not have a lot of power you would expect with a humbucker. It is a bit noisy it buzzes a bit when your not touching the guitar but that's what all single coil pickups do. It is bright but not too bright.
Reliability & Durability — 10
All DiMarzio stuff is reliable. It is a standard tele pickup with the chrome cover. It sounds good enough to play it for a gig I can't wait to use it for a show. It was easy to install. Ts pickup will last a long time. This pickup is good enough for live, home use, jamming, and studio. The pickup is a little bit smaller than a regular tele pickup it moves a bit in the hole for it. It was worth the $55 I paid for it. It came with two different types of screws so it will go into any guitar and the springs seem reliable.
Overall Impression — 10
I play alternative, grunge, metal, basically everything. This pickup is good for a lot of things especially clean sounds. If someone took my guitar and took out this pickup I would put another one in. I love this pickup for clean sounds when you play chords you hear every note clearly it does not sound muddy. It is an all around good pickup. On clean it kind of sounds like John Frusciante's guitar. I don't hate anything about this pickup. If you are a player who loves to shred and sweep and want a lot of output this pickup is not for you.
