lps new album is in drop D, not drop db like their other stuff.
+1   May 16 2007, 09:35 am by mudvayne2005 |
it doesnt really matter what tuning it is in dark falco, they r the same notes
May 16 2007, 09:26 pm by kevdawg |
no, it does matter mudvayne2005. putting the guitar in drop db totally changes the notes that are played. it sounds completely different in drop db then from regular drop d. dark falco is right.

in total guitar this month brad delson says that he uses drop d and standard mainly, but sometimes dropped to C#
good tab (Y)

well, actually, it isn't 100 percent. The first thing I noticed about your tab was that all the lead intro notes are Rerereborn should know this, as he said he watched the AOL Sessions. If you look closely, ONLY the first note is picked, and the rest are all slides, hammer ons, or pull offs. Other than that, i think your good, but of course, because they are all hammer ons and pull offs, all the intro is on one string,,, another thing Rerereborn should have noticed. On the other hand, in the album, it sounds way to perfect to be hammer ons and pull offs so do it whichever way you want.
May 29 2007, 03:22 pm by Rerereborn |
yes he play it on one string , but the notes are right and it sounds better than play it on one string.
-1   June 9 2007, 02:04 pm by JL Sevenfold |
Dude, perfect! About the intro melody, I pick every note because it sounds more like the album, but whatever
-2   June 12 2007, 11:53 pm by Logan_B |
u missed one is 99% right except what im gonna say...i got the evidence to back it Linkin Park in Youtube....then watch the AOL Live video of them playing this song...everything is right but just before the verse after they play the 9chord 4x they play 1x4 then 2x4 just before verse
-4   June 12 2007, 11:54 pm by Logan_B |
sorry i messed up... Leggi is correct
-2   June 13 2007, 11:02 pm by Norlando |
The intro is on 1 string. Watch the video and you will notice he only pick it once and then slides the rest of the time. Look at mine, version 10, to see how to do the intro. Another thing is if you watch aol music sessions music video you will notice if you look closely they use bar chords.

Not sure if y'all know, but the intro is done with an Ebow...I know this because a song that my friend wrote in 2005 has an intro that has the same first 2 notes, and when played on the eBow, like we experimented in May, it has the exact same sound. That's why I have to re-write that part...damn it. But yeah, that part is played on an eBow, there is no picking (maybe the first note, but doubt it). It's all with slides and an eBow, maybe with a few hammer ons and pulloffs. But its an EBOW...just to make sure its clear. Either way, great tab.

to tell u the truth this isnt accurate i have the minutes to midnight tab book and will be adding no more sorrow shortly but this tab is wrong top to bottom
June 29 2007, 09:52 am by Rerereborn |
it doesn´t exist an minutes to midnight tab book, or does it?
I have saw nothing in the internet about this tab book you spoke about.

95%??? It's something about 50% correct :)
October 30 2007, 03:59 pm by mr--wrigley |
great tab, although I think it sounds better in just drop D tuning
-2   November 15 2007, 08:33 pm by dewie153 |
it was a good tab.
-2   November 20 2007, 06:41 am by Muzak |
if you buy the album and look in the book, it tells you that the intro is an ebow an was originally made for different
song on the album but ended up being turned into a whole new song that became no more sorrow :)

its wrong guys i know how to play it properly ive watched their live videos numerous times watch out for my tab i know
it is 100% right...your tab is good but the intro thing is wrong....ive watched Brad play it theres no way yours would

nice hope you make more tabs

please make more tabs
+1   January 24 2008, 02:26 pm by Michael-Mike |
I don't think the intro could be more

+5   January 28 2008, 10:10 pm by dodee |
the intro is not wrong but it can be played differently and brad does play it on one string but if you play it like in
this tab youre still hitting the same notes but youre just picking them instead, its your personal choice
+2   February 3 2008, 01:18 pm by sum41rules |
i agree with above, n stupid r the people hu say tht the books r right, coz more often thn not ther wrong. ther jus done by people hu thinks thts how its played, just like on this site. u really think the real band hav the time n the need 2 write it thmselves?!

this tab is great, tnx, doesnt matter if the tuning is notwhat it shud b it isnt hard 2 fix tht coz the notes on the fretboard r right how uve dunit:)
+1   February 19 2008, 09:28 pm by TheFishGutarist |
The intro is wrong for guitar 2. In part A theirs no Palm mute and in part B the first set of 2's theirs no pm. The Bridge theirs also no Palm Mute. But, the reset of the tab is good to go.
-2   April 14 2008, 06:03 pm by second_in_pie |
I'm pretty sure the intro's played on a synthesizer in the CD version, just because that's with all the other LP songs e.g. Numb, Crawling
It can be played on a guitar too don't worry just pointing it out
Also, In AOL sessions, the lead is played on one string
Nice tabbing
+1   May 3 2008, 06:39 am by Linkerman |
Kevdawg is right. Putting the guitar in Drop Db totally changes the tone of the notes that are played. The same note in Drop Db sounds completely different than from regular Drop D.
If this wasn't true, then a Drop D power chord would sound exactly the same as a Standard tuning power chord, when it doesn't.
As far as this tab goes, the notes are right, so you can play this way in Drop Db. But, in the "Minutes To Midnight" album, they use Drop D. So, if you want to sound more accurate, you have to transpose this tab to Drop D.
May 26 2008, 09:17 pm by slimshaddy556 |
well, heres the thing, they put it in drop db because the bridge isnt playable in regular d, because db is 2 frets higher than d, i played it in drop d, i can play everything except the bridge, thats mainly the only reason the put it that way
May 26 2008, 10:54 pm by celldweller454 |
according to rating and comments i'd guess this tab isn't "that" great... but it is the best so far so i'll favoite it for furure refference
May 28 2008, 10:28 am by slimshaddy556 |
oh and linkerman, i tried to submit No more sorrow transposed to drop D instead of Db, but it got declined, stupid ppl, but oh well, ill submit a better version later
September 6 2008, 06:50 pm by Morbid Morrison |
It doesn't really matter if he only played it on one string, since it sounds better on multiple in my opinion. Actually, you look more experienced if you play it on all three strings instead of one. This is the best tab I've seen so far though.
+1   October 7 2008, 08:16 pm by Soule147 |
You should be playing in Drop D and everything should be one fret lower, I do that, and it sounds 100% accurate.
December 31 2008, 01:30 pm by demonducksaydie |
hey you can play it
December 31 2008, 01:31 pm by demonducksaydie |
all of those are 101% correct just played in different spots.
May 12 2009, 05:37 pm by Zecrah |
People have really let their music theory slip, and so 'musicians' can't play unless they have perfect tabs in front of them. Many guitarists don't know anything about music, which is sad...

Drop D is dropping the low e string to a D - 2 notes below what it is usually at. Drop D 1/2 step down or D flat or Drop Db (all the same) is doing normal drop D, THEN flattening every note by a semi tone. So then your low e string becomes a D flat, 3 notes below what it's standard is.

Musical alphabet: A, A#/Bb, B, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G, G#/Ab

Standard guitar tuning: E A D G B e
Drop D: D A D G B e
D-Flat: Db Ab Db Gb Bb eb

Quite simply, to play things in D flat when you're in a drop d tuning, you move everything down a semi tone. Useful if you have low gauge string, and dropping too far will loosen them and make them very 'flappy'

Tabs in my opinion should be an accurate guideline. You should be able to read one, and if it doesn't sound quite right tweak it a little rather than yelling at everyone how you have the lousy guitar tab book which doesn't exist. This is a pretty good tab, maybe not 100% on the intro but he hits the right notes just differently. Play how you want to play and the sound you want. If you want LP perfect, phone up Brad Delson. Otherwise, make do. Musicians should be MUSICians.

actually ZECRAH, the tab book DOES exist, i saw it at Best Buy on time and it was the whole minutes to midnight album. good tab anyway
